Z for Ziggurat is an ongoing series, which I started in 2009. I tried to convey experiences of modern life and refer to the urban environment by using colors, design and architecture as a response to modern day nostalgia for the splendor of lost and faded ancient civilizations.
Ziggurat was a stepped pyramidal structure from ancient Mesopotamia. The most famous ziggurat was the Tower of Babel mentioned in the Biblical book Genesis, and the last one discovered, was Sialk in Iran dating to the early 3rd millennium B.C.
