In June 2022, I completed my two weeks of Alchemy International Artist Residency in Prince Edward County. The Alchemy Artist Residency is about exploration, collaboration and sharing knowledge on the food’s economics by the artists and through cultural dimensions bringing the community together. Each participating artist is paired with local wineries and farms to create and share work in response to their surroundings. The body of work I created for this residency is in dialogue with changes within the natural environment, like lands, waterways, fluctuating temperatures and light. I was also inspired by the exhibition running at the time in Wellington Heritage Museum: “The people of PEC”, which discusses the history of indigenous living in the area and interviews with migrant workers and refugees.
