My work is about the joy of being in a continual present and a tribute to the concept of ‘living in the moment’.
I am inspired by the repetition of form found in nature, which in term represents the idea of fluidity and growth, and the dynamic of the geometrical force. With a blend of imaginative thinking and the empathy of line movement, I often apply a certain order or type of patterning that uses lines and marks with a definite controlled spontaneity. The initial chaos gradually evolves into a noticeably structured abstract geometry overlaid with hundreds of interwoven white or light –colored lines that create a dense web of deliberate sinuous brush strokes. This sinuosity of lines itself open up innumerable spaces in the web which are then covered with thousands of tiny marks or circles that engage the mind and the eye to create the illusion of a moving space. This abstraction is a structure of mind as much as it is a physical entity that evokes a heightened awareness of our own being. This meditative process leads to the creation of an intangible universal space that does not belong to any specific person or place. For me, this experience is decidedly spiritual, blissful and transcendent into the beauty of evolving form.
